Interaction and installation design often fail on the documentation. Sometimes in a project, the artist thinks the work is finished with the first working prototype. At best there is some documentation of the work, usually bad quality, and does not meet todays video standards.
Social media presence
I haven't been a big twitter fan up till now. I have been registered for a while, but i have never really written or read anything on it. I considered it useless to tweet about me walking on the street and hitting a pole while writing all this from my iPhone. But the thought kept coming back to me, if so many people are using it, there must be something useful about it. First it came up when i downloaded the app call Flipboard, only to check out its page peel GUI. When i started using it regularly, i realized that it is getting all the feed from twitter, and if i add something to the favorites, it gets saved on twitter. I was frustrated by this saving thing in the beginning, because i often read daily tech and design news on the public transport on my way to work, and many times i had someting to keep for reading leter, or i stopped reading and wanted to keep on reading on my computer. To do this i had to open up my laptop, log into twitter, open the link in favorites, and save it to my Chrome bookmarks.
The second push was while i was talking with one of my friend how we could get good jobs now in the creative field. He suggested me following some bigger digital agencies on twitter, as they post many interesting insights on their work. This made me think, and started reading about the background of twitter, and how it works. As it was getting clearer in my head, i realized that it was the same when i got to Facebook. I was against it in the beginning, but further understanding opened new gates.
I realized twitter could be useful for me in specific fields. 1. gathering, reading, collecting and sharing content of my interest (art, design, tech) 2. make, maintain business and professional relationships.
For the second one, here is a very useful article: http://www.redlemonclub.com/improve-online-efficiency/7-ways-to-turn-you...
So be careful with social media. Don't let yourself being sucked in and don't use it for posting bullshit, and personal uninteresting (i am sitting on the toilet and my .... back is itchy) posts. If we use it consciously, then we dont need to hate new technologies, because they can take us and the society further. But never forget, there is life offline, and there are things, that worth way more than all the posts from twitter, facebook, google+ !
